Limassol residents woke up to shocking news on Monday morning after two separate car fires were reported in the early hours of the day.
The first incident occurred around 2:30 a.m., when a vehicle owned by a 38-year-old man caught fire outside his home. The man himself managed to extinguish the flames before emergency services arrived. Police and firefighters attended the scene, which is now under guard pending a full investigation on Monday morning. The Pissouri Police Station is leading the inquiry.
Less than two hours later, at approximately 4:00 a.m., another car, this one owned by a 37-year-old man, was set ablaze while parked outside his residence. Residents rushed to put out the fire before authorities arrived. The scene has also been secured for investigation, with the Limassol Investment Authority handling the case.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of either fire, but both incidents are being treated seriously. Limassol police are urging anyone with information to come forward, as they work to determine whether the fires were deliberate or accidental.
For now, residents are being reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
