A jaw-dropping scene unfolded on the coastal road of Limassol when two people were spotted lying in the back of a moving small truck, seemingly asleep, in what experts are calling a reckless and illegal act.
In a video posted on the Road Report CY page, one person is covered while the second, dressed casually, grips the side of the truck with one hand while their legs stick out the other side. Neither appears concerned about the obvious dangers, including the high risk of a serious accident.
The video, which has quickly circulated online, does not indicate whether the footage is recent or from an earlier time. Some viewers jokingly questioned whether the clip was digitally altered, struggling to understand the sheer recklessness of the stunt.
Limassol has recently been experiencing cooler temperatures and rain, adding another layer of risk to the bizarre ride. Authorities have yet to identify the vehicle or those involved, as the truck’s license plates were not visible.
Road safety experts warn that riding in the open bed of a moving vehicle is illegal and extremely dangerous, with potentially fatal consequences. Police have not yet commented on whether they are investigating the incident.
