Police sources said the man did not appear to have any external injuries, while a forensic pathologist will conduct a post mortem later in the day to determine the exact cause of death.

Voychuk was on a two-week holiday in Cyprus with his wife, and the couple was scheduled to depart June 8.

Famagusta police are investigating the incident.

A day earlier, on Sunday morning, the body of another tourist was spotted in the sea around 7am, when a caller notified authorities that a woman was floating unconscious in the water in the Nissi Beach area.

It later emerged that the victim was 48-year-old Marina Suzdaltseva, who had been reported missing by her husband later that day.
