Greece, Cyprus and the United States conducted a joint training exercise in naval special forces that ran between 16-24 March off the coast of Souda bay in Crete.

A press release by the Defence Ministry said Tuesday that the exercise, the second conducted this year, took place in the framework of trilateral cooperation, and was coordinated by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff.

Training involved various exercises aboard the Hellenic Navy's frigate PSARA and training ship ARIS.

Greece’s Ministry of Defense released a series of images from a joint training exercise of the naval special operations commands of Greece, Cyprus and the United States.

“This joint training between the special operations commands of Greece, the USA and Cyprus confirms their high level of professionalism and increases the level of cooperation in the design and execution of operations for dealing with modern threats in the central and eastern Mediterranean,” the Greek Defense Ministry said in a press release.
