Weather report: Morning calm gives way to afternoon clouds

Temperatures hold steady and breezes stay soft with isolated showers in the mountains.

Newsroom

A gentle low-pressure system is passing through, and up above, a whisper of dust might drift through the skies from time to time.

Today begins mostly clear, offering a bright and calm start. As the day unfolds, clouds will gather, bringing a chance of isolated showers, and perhaps a lone, dramatic thunderclap, mainly over the mountains and inland. Winds will drift gently from the northeast to southeast this morning, soft and easy at 3 Beaufort, shifting later to a southeast to southwest direction, still gentle, occasionally nudging 4 Beaufort. The sea will mirror this calmness, ranging from serene to slightly wavy. Temperatures will rise to a warm 29°C inland and along southern and eastern coasts, hover around 27°C along other shores, and settle near a refreshing 22°C in the highlands.

Tonight, the skies will stay mostly clear. Winds will whisper from northwest to northeast, and the sea will remain calm to slightly rolling.

Looking ahead to Thursday, expect a sky brushed with mid- and high-level clouds at times. By afternoon, some developing clouds may bring isolated showers, mainly over the mountains and southern areas.

Friday and Saturday will offer mostly clear mornings, with clouds slowly weaving in through the day. Afternoon showers may appear locally, most likely in mountainous pockets.

Temperatures will remain steady through Saturday, lingering near or just above the usual values for this time of year, a gentle, familiar rhythm to carry us into the weekend.
