If you thought earlier in the week was warm, Wednesday and Thursday mark the absolute ceiling of this current stretch. The persistent seasonal low-pressure system is delivering the hottest conditions of the week, making it a prime afternoon to stay close to the air conditioning or head straight to the water.
After a few early morning patches of low cloud and light mist clear away along the southern coast, the sky will open up to wide-open sunshine across the island.
The interior bears the brunt of the heat today, with the temperature soaring to 43°C. If you are anywhere near the capital, keep outdoor exposure to a minimum during peak hours. The rest of the island gets a better deal: the west coast sits at a much milder 33°C, while the remaining coastal areas hold steady around 36°C. Up in the higher Troodos peaks, you will find a far more tolerable 32°C.
Winds will start off light and variable at 3 to 4 Beaufort out of the southwest and northwest. The sea stays well-behaved throughout the day, keeping to a gentle, slight chop that makes for ideal swimming conditions.
Once the sun sets, the intense daytime heat will slowly fade, giving way to a clear and calm night across all districts.
Winds will transition into light katabatic (downslope) breezes at a faint 3 Beaufort. The sea will settle further into a calm to slightly rough state, making for a pleasant, quiet evening along the waterfront.

Thursday: Temperatures hold locked at today's peak 43°C level for one final blistering afternoon.
Friday: The heatwave breaks. Temperatures drop noticeably across the island, accompanied by a few locally passing clouds.
Saturday: The cooling trend continues, bringing the mercury down to slightly below the seasonal average to kick off the weekend.
