Woman arrested in supermarket theft case

The 46-year-old was caught with stolen goods upon leaving the supermarket

Police have detained a 46-year-old woman in connection with an ongoing supermarket theft investigation. The arrest was made following an incident at a supermarket in Kato Paphos on September 15, 2023, at approximately 5:30 PM, according to Michalis Nicolaou, the press spokesman for the Paphos Police Department and Head of the Paphos Police Department.

Security personnel at the supermarket apprehended the woman as she attempted to exit the store. Upon inspecting her belongings, they reportedly discovered various stolen items, including toiletries and other goods believed to have been taken from the store's inventory.

The woman, identified as a 46-year-old Cyprus resident, was subsequently taken into custody. An arrest warrant had been issued, leading to her apprehension. Following her arrest, she was formally charged in writing and later released pending further legal proceedings.
