A video circulating online shows a post-wedding spectacle at Limassol’s Linopetra roundabout, where a racing car drifts around the junction while fireworks are set off from the roadway.
For the wedding party, a moment to remember. For everyone in the queue, an unexpected addition to the journey.
Posted on social media with the caption “Just Married,” the footage shows vehicles backed up in the approach lanes as the display blocks access to the roundabout. Horns provide a soundtrack, although whether they are offering congratulations or requesting an exit is open to interpretation.
The celebration certainly makes an entrance. It also leaves other road users waiting while a public junction briefly becomes a wedding stage.
As memorable send-offs go, it is quite a production—though the drivers trying to get home might have preferred a slice of cake.
