Petrolina was recognized for its longstanding support of the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) during a ceremony marking the Center’s 30th anniversary.
The Cyprus-based energy company received an honorary award for its consistent contribution to the JRCC’s search and rescue missions by supplying fuel to participating aircraft, a role deemed essential to maintaining operational readiness and effectiveness.
The award was presented by Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works Alexis Vafeadis and accepted by Demetris Mavromichalos, Petrolina’s general manager of operations.
Petrolina’s collaboration with the JRCC is formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, reflecting its commitment to corporate social responsibility and public-private cooperation during crises. The JRCC expressed gratitude for the company’s support, highlighting its critical role in the Center’s mission to prevent loss of life during rescue operations.
The ceremony, held at JRCC headquarters, was attended by President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, several cabinet ministers, foreign diplomats, and representatives from state and volunteer rescue organizations.
