In 2022, Cyprus saw a big jump in sales from local factories, reaching €4.29 billion, up 13.7% from the previous year’s €3.78 billion, according to the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat).
Here's a snapshot of what’s driving this growth:
- Halloumi Cheese: Cyprus exported 44,000 tonnes, raking in €309.1 million.
- Milk and Cream: 59.7 million litres of these products brought in €79.2 million.
- Fresh Fruit Juice: Sales of 59.9 thousand tonnes were worth €40.6 million.
- Bakery Goods: Fresh bread and pastries totalled €320.3 million in sales.
- Beer: 41.7 million litres sold for €48.8 million.
- Wines: 11.8 million litres brought in €36.4 million.
- Soft Drinks: Sales hit €17 million from 12.6 million litres.
- Mineral Water: 189 million litres sold for €35.3 million.
Other notable products include:
- Pharmaceuticals: €324.7 million.
- Cement and Concrete: €140.4 million for cement and €202 million for ready-mixed concrete.
This increase shows a strong demand for Cyprus-made goods, benefiting both local businesses and consumers.
