Traffic in Limassol has become a daily headache, with jams stretching for kilometers and snaring thousands of drivers, often outside of rush hour. Even minor accidents can bring the city’s main roads to a near standstill.
Tuesday afternoon, a collision near Tsirion heading toward Paphos triggered a massive backup, with vehicles stopped as far back as Germasogeia.
The congestion wasn’t limited to one direction. Onlookers slowed on the opposite side of the highway, toward Nicosia, causing additional delays, a common occurrence whenever accidents draw curious drivers.
The ripple effect quickly spreads to nearby exits and roundabouts, leaving motorists trapped and struggling to escape the gridlock.
For commuters, the jam is more than an inconvenience, it’s typical of how quickly traffic in Limassol can spiral out of control.
