Move over Los Angeles and Monaco: Cyprus has officially entered the “billionaire’s playground” league, or at least the €16 million playground. The island’s priciest house, currently on the market in Pareklisia, near Limassol, is more palace than home, and it’s shaking the foundations of what locals thought was possible for a property price tag.
According to Bazaraki.com, the island has 8,750 active house ads, and a whopping 27% start at €1 million or more. Limassol dominates the seven-figure club with 1,425 listings, followed by Paphos, Famagusta, Larnaca, and Nicosia. But the crown jewel? That would be the Pareklisia mansion, listed at a cool €16 million.
The estate spans 950 square meters of living space over three levels, including five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, three kitchens, a private office, and a library-cinema room, because one home theater clearly isn’t enough. Add in staff quarters, terraces, gardens, and paved roads, and the total property stretches to 3,000 square meters.
Is it worth it? Well, if you’ve ever dreamed of having a private cinema, multiple kitchens, and enough terraces to host a small festival, this could be your slice of paradise. And while Cyprus may not scream “Hollywood Hills” or “Monte Carlo,” the influx of wealthy foreigners, particularly in Limassol and its surroundings, suggests that eye-watering prices might just be the new normal.
For everyone else, this €16 million palace is a reminder that in real estate, as in life, there’s a world where a bathroom can cost more than your car… and apparently, it’s in Pareklisia.
