Promotional Activity
Join us in celebrating the rich tapestry of European literature and nurturing a love for reading among the younger generation on European Writers' Day! Established by the European Commission in 2023, this annual event, celebrated on March 25th, honors Europe's literary heritage and diverse linguistic landscape.
Co-hosted by the Library of the University of Nicosia and the esteemed digital library "Read Library," our event promises an engaging program for all. On Thursday, March 28th, students from the University of Nicosia, hailing from Austria and Japan, will converge with book professionals from Cyprus and their respective countries. Together, they will delve into the joys of reading, sharing insights, and experiences with literature and language.
Then, on Saturday, April 6th, immerse yourself in a captivating multilingual reading of children's stories, lovingly presented by the students. Following the readings, creative writing and illustration workshops led by esteemed facilitators will ignite imaginations and inspire budding storytellers.
The culmination of our efforts will see the creation of captivating digital content, accessible for free on the "Read Library" app, ensuring that the magic of storytelling reaches far and wide.
