"Cycling in the city 2022" will take place this Sunday, April 10. The event aims to promote a cycling culture on the island, underscoring its multiple benefits such as improving health, low pollution and a more environmentally friendly means of transportation, especially within the cities on the island, resulting in a better quality of life for all people.
The cycling route will start behind 18 Korniliou Street, (PC 2028), behind Aretaio Hospital in Strovolos at 9:30 in the morning. From there, participants will ride to the city center, passing Makarios Avenue, the House of Representatives, Famagusta Gate and Eleftherias Square, where there will be a short event outside SupportCY House before finally returning to the starting point. There will of course be another shorter route for less experienced cyclists, starting and ending at the House of Representatives. This route will start at 10:00.
The event is organized by the Chairman of the Environment Committee in coordination with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Town Halls of Strovolos and Nicosia, and is under the auspices of the Speaker of Parliament.
