If there’s one thing that unites a village, it’s good food, and Parekklisia’s favorite fruit is getting the full red-carpet treatment once again. On June 22, the heart of this Limassol community will transform into a celebration of all things tomato at the fourth annual Tomato Festival.
Organized by the Cultural Club Archangel Michael, this feel-good event is the perfect summer outing for food lovers, families, and anyone who appreciates Cyprus’ rich farming traditions.
Set in the charming village square by the church of Archangel Michael, the festival will be bursting with tomato treats, from classic salads to new twists on traditional favorites. Special guest and popular TV chef Chryso Lefou will be on hand to share mouth-watering recipes and kitchen secrets, sure to inspire home cooks of all levels.
But it’s not just about food. The festival is a celebration of Cypriot culture and community. Expect live music, traditional dancing, and games that’ll bring a smile to every face, young and old. A lively marketplace will showcase the best of local produce and crafts, giving visitors the chance to meet tomato growers, learn about different varieties, and even pick up tips on how to grow their own tomatoes at home.
“This festival is our way of honoring the farmers, the food, and the local pride that bring us together,” say organizers, who are still welcoming sponsors to help make the day even more memorable. Businesses that join as sponsors can host booths and display promotional material and will be featured on a large banner at the event.
Whether you're a die-hard tomato fan or just looking for a sunny day out with good food and great music, Parekklisia’s Tomato Festival is sure to hit the spot.
