41-year-old overturns car in Paphos while drunk and driving without license

Driver suffers minor injuries; Faces multiple charges following early morning crash.

A 41-year-old man is accused of multiple serious traffic offenses following a crash in the Paphos district early Sunday.

At around 1 a.m., the man lost control of his vehicle while driving on a village road. The car overturned into a nearby field under circumstances that remain under investigation.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at Paphos General Hospital before being discharged.

Preliminary alcohol and drug tests administered to the man returned positive results. A subsequent final alcohol test showed a reading of 124 μg%. Authorities also discovered he was driving without a valid license or safety certificate.

He has been formally charged and will be summoned to appear in court.

The Kouklia Police Station is handling the investigation.
