Palestinian Ambassador to Cyprus Abdallah Attari met Friday with Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and seek support from the island nation.
In a written statement, Attari said he briefed Kombos on the latest developments in Palestine, highlighting the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. He also outlined the outcomes of the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Resolution of the Palestinian Issue and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in New York from July 28 to 30.
Attari stressed the urgent need for support from friendly countries, noting that Cyprus recognized the State of Palestine 37 years ago.
Kombos, according to Attari, informed him of Cyprus’ ongoing efforts to help ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
“We always rely on the support of the Republic of Cyprus, both within the framework of the European Union and the United Nations,” Attari said.
He also expressed gratitude to Kombos for Cyprus’ initiatives in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza.
