A total of 53 Cypriot citizens who were in Israel and Iran have returned to Cyprus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on the evacuation of foreign nationals under the national “ESTIA” plan.
The ministry said that as part of the “ESTIA” National Plan, France completed the organization of evacuation flights this week. Seven flights departed from Israel, carrying 395 foreign nationals.
In total, 608 people were assisted in their departure through the “ESTIA” plan, the statement said. Additionally, 296 foreign nationals left on specially arranged commercial flights for repatriation.
The ministry also noted that more than 3,000 travelers were temporarily in Cyprus during this period due to flight diversions, remaining on the island until they could continue to their final destinations.
