Jon Collins-Black, an author and entrepreneur, has launched an adventurous treasure hunt across the United States, inspired by his love of fantasy and legendary hunts like Forrest Fenn's. His book, There’s Treasure Inside, provides clues to locate five treasure chests with a combined value exceeding $2 million.

Collins-Black, a fan of mythical adventures like Dungeons & Dragons, wanted to create an inclusive hunt that would rekindle a sense of imagination. Unlike Fenn’s singular chest, his project offers multiple troves scattered across the country to ensure accessibility for more participants.

“Each chapter of the book holds detailed clues leading to a specific chest,” Collins-Black explained. He designed each container as a custom puzzle box, containing both instructions for unlocking the chest and its treasure.

Participants don’t need special skills or equipment; the hunt avoids dangerous terrains, private property, and digging requirements. Collins-Black promises that all the information required is in the book.

Thousands of treasure hunters have already taken to online platforms like Discord, sharing theories and debating the locations of the chests.

The contents of the chests are just as captivating as the hunt itself. Collins-Black curated a collection of rare artifacts, including Pokémon cards, shipwreck relics, and gold. The standout treasures include historically significant items like a brooch owned by Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Amelia Earhart memorabilia, and Wilma Rudolph’s Olympic gold medal.

One chest has been deliberately designed as the ultimate prize, carrying even more value than the others.

While Collins-Black hopes the hunt will challenge participants, he’s open to offering additional clues if the chests remain undiscovered for years. For now, the book and the adventure it offers are gaining attention nationwide.
