Jeff Goldblum gave a surprise performance at London’s St. Pancras International train station on Wednesday to celebrate the release of the highly anticipated Wicked movie. The actor, who plays the Wizard of Oz in the upcoming adaptation, took to the station’s piano and performed a Wicked song, along with two Christmas tunes, delighting unsuspecting travelers and shoppers.
Goldblum, who is also known for his musical skills, plays in The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, which is famous for its modern jazz renditions of classic American songs. His performance followed in the footsteps of other legendary musicians like Alicia Keys and Elton John, who have previously played the iconic piano at the station.
The impromptu concert was part of the station’s celebration of Wicked, which included the unveiling of a Wicked-themed Christmas tree, created in partnership with Universal Pictures. The movie’s European premiere was held in London earlier this week, where Goldblum joined co-stars Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and others.
With Wicked set to hit theaters soon, early box office projections are strong, with the film expected to make around $85 million in its opening weekend—a huge figure for a musical adaptation.
