Blaze engulfs abandoned house near Limassol University (video)

Firefighters tackle intense fire as citizens observe street disruption


A fire broke out in a vacant two-story house on Iphigenia Street near the Technical University of Limassol early Wednesday morning, prompting the Fire Service to spring into action.

Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis reported the deployment of four fire engines, including a telescopic boom truck, to combat the blaze. The fire, engulfing the second floor, is described as intense and extensive.

Kettis noted that preliminary information suggests four individuals managed to escape the building before the arrival of the Fire Brigade. The incident has disrupted the surrounding area, with concerned citizens gathering on the streets.
