The fire that broke out shortly after eleven in the morning in Souni - Zanakia, Limassol district, has caused damage to several buildings, which is manageable, according to Fire Service spokesman Andreas Kettis.
According to a post by Mr. Kettis on platform X, the fire burned about five hectares of trees and wild vegetation.
"Final suppression and demarcation is being done. Air assets have been released at present. Individual homes were protected during the progression. A number of outbuildings have been damaged," said Kettis.
According to the Fire Service Spokesman, the damage will be recorded at a later stage by the relevant authorities. Mr. Kettis notes that the Fire Service of Thera also contributed to the extinguishing of the fire. The causes of the fire are being investigated in cooperation with the police.
