There was another bomb scare in Paphos on Thursday with police ordering the evacuation of a middle school in Yeroskipou following a bomb threat over the phone.
According to media reports, police received a phone call on Thursday morning around 10:50am from an unknown person who warned of a bomb placed at Yeroskipou Middle School.
The incident comes after similar calls were made to Paphos Technical School as well as shopping malls, a casino, and a flight that was just about ready to take off
The school was immediately evacuated as officers from the bomb squad and sniffing dogs from the K-9 unit carried a thorough search that yielded no explosive substances or anything suspicious.
A day earlier, police officers took part in an event in Yeroskipou to honour community officers in support of the neighborhood watch programmes in the area.
The bomb scare incident also comes one day after a similar call was placed warning of a bomb at the Paphos Technical School in downtown. And a few days earlier, multiple evacuations had been ordered in two shopping malls, a casino, and a flight that was just about ready to take off in Larnaca.
A similar school bomb scare also took place in Nicosia last month, when school administrators at a private institution received a call and quickly notified police. An evacuation was ordered immediately while nothing had been found out of place.
Police told Knews investigators were looking into all the recent incidents but there was no information readily availalbe and no announcements were expected to be forthcoming.
