Frost has formed in the higher Troodos mountains, and the roads leading to Troodos are open only for 4x4 vehicles or those with anti-slip chains.
According to a recent police statement on the road network situation, frost formed in the higher Troodos mountains around 6:00 PM on Friday, affecting the road network. Police recommend drivers exercise special caution.
In the mountainous areas of the Limassol district, the Platron-Troodos, Karvouna-Troodos, and Prodromos-Troodos roads are open only to vehicles with all-wheel drive or equipped with anti-slip chains, as the frost has made the road surface slippery.
In addition, in the Nicosia district, the old Alona-Agrou road is open only to vehicles with all-wheel drive or equipped with anti-slip chains, due to snowfall that has made the road surface slippery.
The rest of the road network in urban areas, as well as the motorways, is not experiencing any particular problems.
Police recommend caution to those traveling on the road network, advising them to observe the traffic code and traffic signs to avoid road collisions.
