The United Kingdom has reinforced its air defense presence in Cyprus with the arrival of Stormer air defense vehicles, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Defence. The deployment is part of efforts to strengthen protection in a region facing elevated security risks.
These systems are equipped with modern missile technology designed to counter aerial threats, adding a significant layer of defense capability.
In the same update, British officials revealed that troops operating in a high-risk environment successfully intercepted 14 kamikaze drones overnight, marking the largest number neutralized by UK forces in a single night to date.
Meanwhile, Royal Air Force fighter jets, including Typhoon and F-35 aircraft, continued conducting defensive operations across the region. Their missions extended over multiple areas, including Cyprus, Jordan, and Qatar.
“Force protection measures in the region remain at the highest level, ensuring that UK personnel are as safe as possible. We are also working closely and in coordination with our allies.”
