A scene straight out of a movie unfolded on the streets of Nicosia late Sunday night, as a 29-year-old Greek Cypriot man was violently beaten by a group of about 30 young men. The shocking attack, which took place around 11:00 PM on December 15, was captured on video, showing the brutal assault on the man as he left a popular nightclub in the heart of the capital.
In the footage obtained by our website, the victim is seen being repeatedly struck by several individuals before he manages to flee to a nearby street. Police arrived shortly after, finding the man injured and disoriented. He was rushed to Nicosia General Hospital, where it was confirmed that he had suffered a fractured nose.
Authorities are now investigating whether the assault was triggered by a previous dispute between the victim and other patrons of the nightclub he had been at earlier in the evening. Sources suggest that the 29-year-old had been enjoying a night out with friends and relatives before the violence erupted.
The perpetrators, who reportedly fled the scene before police could arrive, are still at large. Law enforcement officials have launched an ongoing search to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
