The Department of Road Transport is urging drivers to check whether their vehicles are subject to outstanding recalls and to complete any necessary repairs to ensure safety.

In a statement Tuesday, the agency said it has begun sending text message alerts to registered vehicle owners. The messages read:

Officials said the campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage preventive action among drivers. The department stressed that vehicle recalls are crucial for correcting defects that could put passengers at risk.
