The inauguration was led by Deputy Minister to the President, Irini Piki, and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis.

The event marked the commencement of the Christmas Villages' enchanting festivities, set to continue until January 14, 2024.

The charming villages of Agros, Derynia, Lefkara, Kalopanayiotis, Laiki Geitonia, Fikardou, and Kyperounda transformed into magical settings, ready to welcome locals, foreigners, and visitors of all ages.

According to the Ministry's announcement, the Christmas Villages project aligns with the government's strategic efforts to revitalize rural, mountainous, and border areas.

It also serves as a pivotal event contributing to the promotion of Cyprus as a year-round tourist destination.

The statement emphasized the authentic Cypriot character of the Christmas Villages, showcasing local products, thematic events, guided tours, experiential workshops, and region-specific quality entertainment.

"The Christmas Villages are a testament to the richness of our cultural heritage, offering visitors a unique experience," remarked the statement.
