Christodoulides announces cabinet shake-up, new ministers set to take office

Fresh faces take the wheel in energy, health, justice, and social welfare as reshuffle kicks in next week.

President Nikos Christodoulides announced a series of changes to his cabinet Friday, naming new ministers and officials across key government posts.

The reshuffle includes:

  • Michalis Damianos as Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry
  • Marinos Mousiouttas as Minister of Labor and Social Insurance
  • Konstantinos Fytiris as Minister of Justice and Public Order
  • Neophytos Charalambides as Minister of Health
  • Clea Hadjistefanou Papaellina as Deputy Minister of Social Welfare
  • Marios Hartsiotis as Commissioner of the Presidency

The ceremony for the assurance and assumption of duties is scheduled for Monday, December 8.

President Christodoulides expressed his gratitude to the outgoing ministers for their service and cooperation, noting the “important work” they carried out during their tenure.

The reshuffle comes as the government aims to refresh its leadership team and bring new energy to key sectors, from health and social welfare to energy and justice.
