Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides has been invited to attend the official coronation ceremony of King Charles, with sources saying he will “most probably” attend.

According to the Cyprus News Agency, Christodoulides has received an invitation to attend the coronation of King Charles III.

“Most probably he will attend,” a source was quoted as saying.

The official coronation ceremony will take place on May 6, at the Westminster Abbey in London.

US President Joe Biden has said he would not attend the coronation, with the White House defending the commander-in-chief’s decision, saying First Lady Jill Biden will be attending "on behalf of the United States."

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was the first world leader to congratulate King Charles III on his official accession to the throne, is also not expected to attend.
