Clear days ahead with brief afternoon cloudiness

Changing weather patterns bring variability to the region

Newsroom

In a display of the dynamic nature of weather, the region is experiencing notable changes in its atmospheric conditions.

As the sun rises today, the skies are expected to showcase a mostly clear appearance. However, as the day progresses beyond noon, an increase in cloud cover is anticipated within the local area. These clouds might bring about isolated instances of rainfall, particularly over the mountainous terrain. Notably, occasional particles of dust might also be suspended in the air.

The prevailing winds are projected to originate predominantly from the southwest and northwest quadrants, manifesting at a level of mild to moderate intensity, as measured on the Beaufort scale with readings ranging between 3 and 4. By the later hours of the afternoon, there is a possibility of wind direction shifting towards the southern coastline, gaining strength and attaining a level of 5 on the Beaufort scale. The seas are expected to exhibit a slightly turbulent demeanor.

Temperature-wise, the mercury is forecasted to ascend to approximately 38 degrees Celsius in the interior, while settling around 33 degrees Celsius in the southeastern, eastern, and northern coastal areas. The rest of the coast should experience temperatures near 31 degrees Celsius, whereas the higher elevated regions, specifically the mountains, are likely to see readings around 30 degrees Celsius.

As night blankets the region, the weather is projected to uphold a general clarity. However, there is a potential for pockets of low-lying clouds to make an appearance intermittently in select areas. The early hours of dawn may also witness the formation of sparse fog or mist, primarily concentrated in the interior and southeastern parts of the region.

The prevailing winds during this period are anticipated to originate from the northwest and northeast directions, maintaining a gentle strength recorded at 3 on the Beaufort scale. The sea conditions are expected to gradually transition from mild agitation to a state of relative calm or slight choppiness.

The thermometer, in response to the nocturnal hours, is predicted to descend to approximately 20 degrees Celsius inland. Coastal regions should experience temperatures hovering around 23 degrees Celsius, while the highest peaks of the mountains are projected to register around 18 degrees Celsius.

As the week progresses, the weather outlook for Thursday and Friday remains predominantly clear, though a likelihood of heightened cloud activity during the afternoon hours exists. Similarly, Saturday is anticipated to exhibit mostly clear conditions.

Throughout Thursday, a slight dip in temperature is foreseen, with values aligning more closely with the usual climate averages. Conversely, Friday and Saturday are poised to maintain a status quo, with temperature fluctuations expected to be minimal.
