Cooperative bank investigation verdict published

Attorney General to examine committee verdict

The public can now read the 800 long page verdict of the investigation regarding the events that led to the collapse of the Cyprus Cooperative Bank. The report was first handed over to the Attorney General last week and was made public today by decision of the investigative committee.

The report is divided into two periods, before and after 2013 and as outlined in the conclusions, there may be criminal and political liabilities as a result of the investigation. 

The report contains separate chapters on the President of the Republic who the comitttee writes ''did not disclose the true nature of the state of the Bank'' that came under state control, the Finance Minister who the verdict names as responsible for the course of events, attributes corporate mismanagment by the former CEO of the Central Cooperative Bank Nicolas Hadjiyiannis.
