Cyprus deposits reach €51.9B, loans at €25.1B in March 2023

Central Bank of Cyprus reports annual growth rates and net increases in latest monetary and financial statistics

Total deposits reached €51.9 billion in March 2023, while total loans stood at €25.1 billion, according to data published by the Central Bank of Cyprus on Tuesday, in the April 2023 edition of Monetary and Financial Statistics.

Total deposits in March 2023 recorded a net increase of €59.8 million, compared with a net increase of €357.1 million in February 2023. The annual growth rate stood at 2.6%, compared with 0.3% in February 2023. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €51.9 billion in March 2023.

Total loans in March 2023 recorded a net increase of €41.9 million, compared with a net increase of €81.2 million in February 2023. The annual growth rate stood at -0.5%, compared with -0.7% in February 2023. The outstanding amount of total loans reached €25.1 billion in March 2023.

CBC notes that the term "net decrease/increase" represents the transactions and it does not include the changes resulting from reclassifications, exchange rates and other adjustments.
