Wizz Air has officially launched its Pilot Academy in Cyprus, opening a new pathway for aspiring pilots on the island to enter the aviation industry. The announcement was made on January 23, 2026, marking the first time that Cypriot candidates can access internationally recognized pilot training locally through a financing model designed to make the profession more financially accessible.

As part of the academy’s debut, the airline will hold an information Open Day on January 25. The event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sunhall Hotel in Larnaca. Prospective applicants, along with their families, will be able to meet company representatives and receive detailed guidance on the application and training process.

The Wizz Air Pilot Academy program is open to Cypriot applicants aged 18 and above who hold a secondary school certificate, have a strong command of English, and demonstrate solid abilities in mathematics and physics. Successful candidates will undergo an intensive training program lasting approximately two years, after which they can qualify as First Officers. Graduates of the program will benefit from a flexible payment structure and are expected to receive employment offers with Wizz Air upon completion of their training.
