Cyprus, Greece and Jordan signed a Trilateral Defence Cooperation Programme during a ceremony held on May 30 at the National Guard General Staff in Nicosia.

A press release issued on Thursday said that the Programme provides, among others, for the conduct of joint training and other activities in Cyprus, Greece and Jordan, adding that these activities will strengthen even more cooperation among the armed forces of the three countries.

It is also stressed that the signing of the Programme reflects the broad spectrum of initiatives for multilateral activities which the National Guard has developed with the armed forces of friendly countries, that promote regional cooperation in the field of security and defence as well as stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond.

During the visit of the delegations from Greece and Jordan to Cyprus, their heads held meetings with the National Guard Chief, Lieutenant Dimokritos Zervakis, and reviewed the relations of the three countries' armed forces. Moreover they discussed activities included in the Programme as well as topics of broad interest.
