Subsea surveys for the Cyprus-Greece electricity interconnection project are advancing, with investment developments expected by year-end, ADMIE President and CEO Manos Manousakis announced at the 7th Athens Investment Forum.
Manousakis highlighted the €1.9 billion project’s steady progress, noting that undersea surveys are now underway within both countries' territorial waters. He expressed optimism for forthcoming investment updates as the project proceeds toward its implementation phase.
Turning to the Cyprus-Israel interconnection, Manousakis said a cost-benefit analysis is underway, with completion expected in the first quarter of 2025.
Regarding regulatory approvals on the Greece-Cyprus link, he added that remaining issues should be resolved soon, citing an existing inter-state agreement and Cyprus's expected investment decision on the project by the end of November.
