Cyprus’ rising judo star, Petros Christodoulides, clinched first place at the Pan American Open in Lima 2025, securing the gold medal in the -66kg category after four impressive victories.
Christodoulides expressed his pride in representing Cyprus on the international stage and standing atop the podium. “Every achievement is built on teamwork, trust, and dedication,” he said, extending gratitude to his sponsors, mentors, and the Cyprus Sports Organisation and Cyprus Olympic Committee for their continued support.
The 21-year-old athlete has been steadily making his mark in the judo world. Following a bronze medal at a recent Grand Prix, and fifth-place finishes at both the World University Games and the Commonwealth Games, this latest triumph adds another milestone to his growing list of accomplishments.
