Cyprus witnesses 22% loan increase

Pure new loans in September 2023 increased to €253.8 million compared to €207 million in August 2023, according to the latest data released by the Central Bank of Cyprus on Thursday.

Total new loans, including renegotiations recorded an increase to €578.0 million in September 2023, compared with €525.7 million in the previous month.

Specifically, total new loans for consumption increased to €24.5 million, compared with €20.3 million in the previous month.

Total new loans for house purchase recorded an increase to €172.6 million, compared with €154.9 million in the previous month.

Total new loans to non-financial corporations for amounts up to €1 million increased to €83.5 million, compared with €68.6 million in the previous month.

Total new loans to non-financial corporations for amounts over €1 million registered an increase to €278.7 million, compared with €270.9 million in the previous month.
