A massive blunt-nosed viper was spotted in the Choirokoitia area, according to Cypriot snake handler Yiannis Angeli, who described it as the largest he has ever seen.
Angeli shared a video of the encounter on social media, saying he discovered the snake in a remote, hard-to-reach area that made its removal especially difficult.
After several attempts, he managed to capture the viper, only to find a second one nearby. That snake escaped before he could intervene.
Angeli warned that similar incidents are likely this year and urged the public to stay alert.
