Authorities have suspended the search for a 35-year-old tourist missing since Tuesday in the waters off Chrysochou Bay, the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) Larnaca said Friday.

The search operation began the afternoon of April 22 and was officially called off at 4:40 p.m. local time on April 25. It lasted 72 hours and covered approximately 186 square kilometers, spanning the coastline from Cape Arnaouti to Pomos and the surrounding marine area of Polis Chrysochous Bay.

The search involved multiple agencies, including a National Guard helicopter and unmanned aerial vehicle, a helicopter from the Police Aviation Unit, a drone from the Police Technology Development Unit, and foot patrols from the Paphos Police Directorate and Civil Defence.

The JRCC said it remains on full operational standby and will resume the search if new information becomes available.
