The boat of a man who went missing in the waters of Chrysochou Bay has been located, though he remains unaccounted for, according to Michalis Nicolaou, Assistant Police Director of Operations in Paphos.

Nicolaou said that at approximately 10:30 a.m. today, the 35-year-old foreign national, visiting Cyprus, set out alone from Latsi Harbor on a rented inflatable boat for a brief tour of the surrounding waters.

Around 4:30 p.m., the boat was discovered adrift and unmanned in waters off Argaka, about 200 meters from the shore.

Authorities were quickly alerted, and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) took charge of the ongoing search and rescue operation.

Efforts include two helicopters from the Police and the National Guard, a coastguard vessel from L&N, and ground teams from the Paphos Police Department.

The search is still underway.
