Cyprus starts the week in a haze just like you before your first cuppa

A hot air mass brings dust and warmth to kick off the week, but relief is on the horizon—just hang in there until Wednesday!

Newsroom

Good morning, Cyprus! It’s Monday—ugh. If your first cup of coffee isn’t quite cutting through the grogginess, blame it on the dusty skies and the lingering heat. A hot air mass is in charge for now, bringing suspended dust in the atmosphere today and tomorrow, so those with allergies or respiratory issues, take precautions!

Today’s Forecast: Expect a mix of clouds, mostly medium to high-level, adding a hazy filter to the already dusty skies. Winds will be light to moderate from the southeast to southwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, while the sea will be a little choppy. Temperatures will reach 31°C inland, 27°C along the coast, and 22°C in the mountains—warm enough to make us long for winter again.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with the same mix of medium to high clouds. Winds will shift west to northwest, still light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The temperature will drop to 14°C inland, 16°C on the coast, and 13°C in the mountains—finally, some cool air for a decent sleep!

Tuesday: More of the same—partly cloudy, still dusty, but with temperatures starting to drop closer to seasonal norms.

Wednesday & Thursday: Relief is on the way! A cold air mass will take over, bringing cooler temperatures, isolated showers, and possibly even a thunderstorm. By then, we should be back to normal March weather, minus the Monday blues.

For now, stay hydrated, keep the windows closed if you're sensitive to dust, and if all else fails—another cup of coffee might do the trick. Happy Monday!
