Cyprus to proceed with 3rd dose

Statement by the Minister of Health, Michalis Hadjipantelas

After much deliberation with cabinet members, the Minister of Health has today announced the following:


• Health officials will begin administering the 3rd dose of the COVID vaccine initially to persons over 65 years of age, residents of nursing homes, immunosuppressed persons regardless of age, as well as health professionals, provided that a period of 6 months has elapsed since the completion of their vaccination regimen. All information about the procedures and the start date of the vaccinations will be announced in the coming days.


• Students, teachers and staff are allowed to be present at academic institutions provided that classrooms are at 2/3 capacity and the current rules regarding the SafePass are followed.


• All existing measures so far will remain in place until September 22.
