Cyprus is under a thunderstorm warning all day Wednesday, with hail expected during heavy rain and low barometric pressure affecting the area through late Thursday.
Weather officials issued a yellow warning valid from 6am through 10pm on Wednesday, citing accumulated precipitation may exceed 35 millimeters per hour.
Wednesday skies will be mostly cloudy with showers in many local areas, isolated thunderstorms, and snow expected to fall at the higher elevations.
Hail is also expected to fall during local patches of severe weather and heavy rain, mainly at noon and afterwards. Winds will range from moderate to strong.

Maximum high temperatures will reach 15° Celsius inland, around 16 in the coastal regions, while it will be 6° degrees up in the highest elevations.
Minimum lows will drop down to 6° Celsius inland, around 11° in the north and west, around 10 in the east and south, while it will be 2° degree up in the highest elevations where frost is expected to form.
Mixed weather is expected on Thursday, with cloudy skies and local showers throughout the day. Isolated thunderstorms and strong winds are also expected at times during the evening.
