Sightseers in the northern town of Kyrenia were mesmerized on Tuesday upon coming across a spectacular waterspout over choppy waters, with videos of the natural phenomenon quickly going viral.
Several videos were posted on social media, including a tweet by Severe Weather EU that was recorded by a local weather enthusiast.
Waterspouts were not seen frequently in Cyprus until recently, as marine weather was described as uneventful except from choppy seas and high winds.
But recent incidents caught on camera have gone viral on the internet and social media, with many locals and weather enthusiasts sharing and commenting on the natural phenomenon.
