Bilateral cooperation in the fields of defence and security and the implementation of the Bilateral Defence Cooperation Program for 2021 was on the agenda of a meeting between Cyprus' Defence Minister Charalambos Petrides with the new Ambassador of Egypt Mohsen Hamza on Thursday.
The two also discussed cooperation in the fields of military equipment and the enhancement of bilateral agreements.
A press release issued by the Ministry says that the Minister and the Ambassador also referred to the development of the trilateral cooperation between Cyprus, Greece and Egypt.
Petrides and Hamza also expressed their satisfaction for the military exercise Medusa that took place in Alexandria last December with the participation of the UAE and France.
On the agenda was also the Turkish provocations in Cyprus' exclusive economic zone and the developments in the region of the eastern Mediterranean.
