The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) Supply has announced the rollout of the second phase of its energy-efficiency initiative, extending €20 vouchers for LED lighting to all residential customers. The vouchers will remain valid through 31 December 2026.
This initiative forms part of EAC’s broader strategy to promote energy efficiency and help households lower their electricity usage. By encouraging the switch to LED lighting, the Authority aims to reduce both energy consumption and carbon emissions.
In the initial phase of the programme, the vouchers were distributed exclusively to vulnerable households. The expansion now ensures that all residential customers can benefit, enabling more households to replace older, energy-intensive bulbs with more efficient LED alternatives.
The vouchers will be delivered by post and are not included with electricity bills. They can only be used to purchase specific LED bulbs from participating partner stores located across all cities. Cash redemption is not permitted.
EAC has also incorporated accessibility features into the scheme. In line with its commitment to inclusivity, the vouchers include Braille markings to assist individuals with visual impairments.
The Authority highlights that switching to LED lighting is a straightforward yet impactful step toward reducing electricity use. Through this programme, EAC continues to encourage consumers to adopt more sustainable habits and contribute to the country’s transition to greener energy practices.
