School trips abroad scheduled for the next two months cancelled

The Ministry of Education announced on Friday it will be cancelling all school trips abroad scheduled during March and April.
In the its announcement, the Ministry said that in view of the current situation, as it is unfolding internationally in terms of the spread of COVID-19, it has decided for preventative reasons to cancel all school trips abroad that were set to take place during the following two months.
It said the decision was taken following consultation with the Health Ministry.
The Education Ministry added that it is evaluating the possibility of financial compensation toward parents who may be affected by this move.
