Estonian President Alar Karis embarks on official visit to Cyprus

President Karis to engage in high-level meetings and site visits during three-day stay

Estonian President Alar Karis is paying Cyprus a three-day official visit, from March 26 to 28, Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis told the press, after a meeting of the Cabinet on Tuesday.

The Spokesperson said that President Karis is arriving on the island today, accompanied by his spouse, and will be received at the Presidential Palace by President Nikos Christodoulides, tomorrow morning.

After the official welcome ceremony, President Christodoulides and his Estonian counterpart will have a private meeting, followed by extended talks by the delegations of the two countries and statements to the press.

Later, the Estonian President will arrive at the House of Representatives and then will return to the Presidential Palace for an official lunch.

In the afternoon, according to Letymbiotis, the Estonian President will visit the Green Line in Nicosia, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the University of Cyprus. A dinner will be hosted in the evening by the Chamber of Commerce.

On March 28, the President of Estonia will visit the Committee on Missing Persons and the Cyprus Center for Land Open Seas and Port Security (CYCLOPS), before departing the island.
