Three women have been arrested in Limassol as part of an international investigation into an alleged online investment fraud network suspected of supporting scams targeting victims in more than 50 countries.

The arrests took place on Tuesday during a coordinated law enforcement operation involving Cyprus, Albania, Finland, Germany, Kosovo and North Macedonia. The operation was supported by Europol and coordinated under the auspices of Eurojust.

Police said seven suspects were arrested across the participating countries, while authorities seized more than 100 servers believed to have been used to facilitate fraudulent investment schemes through fake online platforms.

In Limassol, officers carried out seven searches at residential properties and business premises. The operation involved Cyprus Police units, including the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department, the Police Headquarters' operations division and the Electronic Data Forensic Laboratory, working alongside German authorities.

Investigators recovered a substantial amount of material for examination, including laptop computers, mobile phones and digital wallets.

The three women arrested in Cyprus are aged 30, 30 and 54. They were detained under European arrest warrants issued in connection with the investigation.

All three appeared before the Limassol District Court, where extradition proceedings to Germany were initiated. The court postponed the start of the proceedings to a later date and ordered their release under conditions.

The investigation forms part of a multinational effort to dismantle the infrastructure allegedly used to operate online investment scams through fraudulent trading platforms.
